Simple Morning Routine For Stay-At-Home Moms

Finding the perfect morning routine for stay-at-home moms is key to overcoming burnout and stress.

Mornings come early for us all; we spend so much time trying to put the kids to sleep before we know it; it’s midnight already. Most times, we barely have a few hours to sleep.

Frustrating, right?

It sure is.

Most people argue that they’re not routine people, so they leave the day to play out naturally.

However, routines help us have smoother days because we know what to do and when to do them.

Love the sound of that?

Even if you’re not a routine person, in this article, I’ll be sharing some of my best tips to help you create a perfect morning routine as a stay-at-home mom.

Stick with me as I explain WHY you should wake up before your children, how to do it, some of the benefits I’ve discovered, and morning routine suggestions to help you be the most productive and greatest MOM you can be.

Why do you need a morning routine?

By getting up earlier, I’ve boosted my productivity while also lowering my stress levels.

Moms have a lot to deal with. And I’m a firm believer in the importance of routines. It’s not just for your children. It’s for you.

Routines can be implemented and benefited by people of all personality types! From the most controlled to the most unstructured, there’s something for everyone.

They’re adaptable while still allowing you to plan your day. And having simple processes in place will allow you to expend the least energy possible on particular tasks, leaving you with enough physical and emotional energy to tackle the rest.

You’ll spend less time figuring out what to do or how to do it and more time doing it if you automate sections of your day. Then you’ll be able to do the things you’ve always wanted to do — and more.

Also, routines can help you create good habits and overcome bad ones. Maybe you have a habit of constantly scrolling through social media or checking emails before the kids get up. When they get up, you discover you’ve been carried away and need to focus on getting them ready for school. If you set a routine to do something productive, you’ll make sure all tasks are done, and you find out that the day is better for you and your kids.

Other importance of setting routines include:

  • Achieving goals
  • Improving physical and mental health
  • Increased feeling of accomplishment
  • Decrease amounts of decision making
  • Automate busy parts of the day.

There are many benefits of having morning routines. Are you ready to create one of your own? I bet you are, Maama.

Let’s look at how to create the perfect morning routine for stay-at-home moms.

How To Create The Perfect Morning Routine For Stay-At-Home Moms

Below are some of the ways to create a perfect morning routine as a stay-at-home mom; in other words, some of the things you should include as you create a morning routine. Thank me later!

Prepare the day before

Set aside 20 minutes each night to plan for the next day and do as much as possible before going to bed.

Layout the outfits for your children (if they are young) or make sure they do so during the school year. Make sure they pack their belongings. If feasible, prepare and pack their lunch and snacks the night before.

Set the breakfast table the night before and place the dry items that your child will consume in the morning on the table, such as cereal, almonds, and so on.

Get up early

For moms, getting up earlier than their children is an essential part of their daily routine.

When your children are awake, you will have more time to wake up and be present. Like me, your alarm clock’s snooze button is dented from how often you hit it!

Avoid digital distractions

Moms’ everyday routines are thwarted by phones and couches. Refrain from giving in!

When you enter your family room, do not sit on the couch. You’ll fall asleep again in no time.

Also, don’t try to catch up on your email, social media, news, or anything else. You should spend 45 minutes focusing and grounding yourself.

Unless you’re bringing up a meditation app, every technology interruption will hamper your ability to take charge of your morning and hence your day.

Clean up

Use clean and new clothes, dry shampoo, energizing face wash, your favorite face moisturizer, and, of course, whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

Meditate

Meditation is a beautiful thing. I used to be a skeptic, but now I’m a believer.

Don’t worry: You don’t have to shave your head, put on a robe, or start believing in crystal healing.

Clearing your mind and focusing on your breath and possibly your bodily sensations is what meditation is all about. This practice calms the mind, giving you more control over your ideas and thinking, and enhances your life in general.
