Pregnancy results in many changes to the body, especially if you are a new mom.
At times, you could feel ugly and wonder why this good gift tries effortlessly to mess up the physique you have worked so hard to build.

So what are the helpful ways to overcome your body issues after pregnancy as a new mom?
Let’s look at some of those tips that will help you get back in shape after pregnancy.
Here they are;
1. Take your time:
Yes, babe, take your time.
It’s not a thing of rush.
Be calming down small, small.😇
While you are taking your time, your body is resting from a journey of 9 months.
You just had nine months of an influx of hormones.
In 9 months, you baked a whole human.
You cant expect to be and look the same.
So, you need to take your time and allow yourself time to rest from the long journey.
2. Sitting on a bucket of hot water:
This practice has been in existence from way back.
It’s now more recently known as Slitz bath.
This method is 100% confirmed to aid in the loss of post-partum belly.
It is a trado-medication that doctors now advise.
When you sit on a bucket containing hot water, the steam from the hot water goes in through your vagina.
As a result, you would notice a rush out of bad blood and a yellow like discharge.
A quick story on this: I had a baby through CS, and then my mum hadn’t come for the regular “omugwo’, as called in my dialect. By the time she finally arrived, I had stopped bleeding.
This woman insisted I sit even with the cut still in plaster, crying and managing to sit.
The result of this shocked me.
Do you want to know?
I started bleeding again so heavily.
Imagine all that residue still sitting comfortably inside there. 😏
Thank God I have a mom who doesn’t take No for an answer, the woman no dey gree, well thank God for this result.
3. Do exercises that burn belly fat:
Because of your terrorist eating habits during pregnancy, there would be fat build up around the abdomen.
So, after pregnancy, it would be nice to get your body back, your stomach inclusive.
You can get an exercise guide app on how to burn tummy fat.
Follow the app directions at your pace until you are back in shape.
For CS delivery, I advise you to consult with your doctor before resuming.
Exercise, burn belly fat; if you stay consistent, it works.
Little secret; try to pull in, squeeze and tighten your abdominal muscles by drawing your navel in.
Whenever I miss my exercise session, I do this all day at intervals. It works!!!
Breastfeeding your baby helps shrink your womb and brings it back to normal size.

Baby girl, I kid you not.
It works like magic.
Let me tell you how.
Breastfeeding is an excellent way to tighten the belly because it causes the uterus to contract and quickly shrink back to its pre-baby size.
Medical study shows that women who breastfeed lose weight faster than those who don’t—up to 300 calories a day.
And if you breastfeed for more than six months, you can burn up to 400 calories a day.
You should try this. 👌
5. Take loads of water and eat healthily:
You ate for yourself and the baby during pregnancy, but now that you have put to bed, your body needs to regain its nutrients.
Water, vegetables, fruits, iron, calcium, protein and carbohydrates sources are a good way of getting your body well and whole again after childbirth.
You must take about 3 litres of water every day to stay hydrated.
A quick way to know how hydrated you are is your urine check.
So, take water until your urine is clear or pale yellow.
6. Try Kegel:
After childbirth, moms get worried that their vagina is weak, they begin to look here for vagina tighteners.
Well, the only healthy tightener of thy vagina is Kegel exercise.
Kegel exercises can help make the muscles under the uterus, bladder, and bowel (large intestine) more robust.
Kegel exercises can be done at any time of the day, either while sitting or lying down.
You can do them when you are eating, sitting at your desk, driving, and when you are resting or watching television.
So, how do you do kegel exercises?
Follow these simple steps;
- Make sure your bladder is empty, then sit or lie down.
- Tighten your pelvic floor muscles. Hold tight and count 3 to 5 seconds.
- Relax the muscles and count 3 to 5 seconds.
- Repeat 10 times, 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, and night).
Most mom’s get worried as their skins don’t have a pre-pregnancy glow and shine.
You might have tried different things, yet no required outcome.
Well, here is a fast recovery plan.
Get a scrub and exfoliate your skin off those dead skin cells.
After bathing with your regular soap, get your scrub to apply generously to your body. After 10 minutes, you wash off with water.
Do this continuously for two weeks, and then you can choose to scrub once every three days.
The more results you get, the more days you skip afterwards.
Apply your choice cream, and a good moisturizer will suffice, watch your glow come back again.
8. Get appropriate dresses:
Pregnancy comes with a lot of changes to your body.
But while you work on yourself to get back on your figure 8, I’d advise you to get appropriate dresses for your new look.
Continue adjusting your choice of clothing until you get your desired shape back.
Don’t let yourself be pressured or uncomfortable by your looks.
Make the best of it, and remain your beautiful self.
9. Continue taking your prenatal vitamins:
It’s pretty tempting to shelve your prenatal vitamins, but not yet, babe!!!
Do you see those prenatal vitamins?
It would help you get back lost nutrients during pregnancy and support your breast milk production.
So, just continue for a bit more.
